Telemedicine

Telemedicine is the exchange of medical information from one location to another using electronic communication, which improves patient health status. Telemedicine has multiple applications and can be used for different services, which includes wireless tools, email, two-way video, smartphones, and other methods of telecommunications technology.

ACP will facilitate a secure online telemedicine video visits between patients and our providers. These visits can typically replace an in-person office visits for lower-acuity services. The goal of these visits is to improve access for patients, increase convenience for patients, and reduce costs of accessing care services.

  1. Start by scheduling a telemedicine visit either online or calling 907-777-1800 and provide us with the best mobile number to call for the visit. If your visit cannot be completed by telemedicine, we will let you know ahead of time.

  2. At the time of your visit you will return to this page to start with the link below. A link to this page will be sent to you via automated text message an hour before your visit. Your provider will be with you shortly after you connect.

  3. During our visits it is best to have all other apps closed and to be connected to whatever connection works best in your location (Wi-Fi or cellular data). We may ask you to put your mobile phone in Do Not Disturb mode to minimize disruption during our visit.

  • The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has broadened access to telehealth services so that insurance company beneficiaries can receive a wider range of services from their providers without having to travel to a healthcare facility. These virtual appointments will be billed to your insurance and there is a chance that you might have a copay or these visits may apply to deductible. At this time ACP will not be collecting copays or deductibles for these types of visits at the time of service, but we will monitor insurance claims closely and will work with our families if insurance companies claim there is a patient responsibility for payment. If you have questions about your insurance coverage we encourage you to contact your insurance company to determine coverage.
